I have known him for over a year. He is in some of my classes at graduate school. Last night we went out for dinner and a movie. I enjoyed both, conversation was good. He did'nt get anything, not even a good night kiss.
He is old enough to be bald nad have a beer gut. He still lives with his parents. I have never heard him mention ever having a job or a girlfriend. He acted like he has never gone on a date before. I am not sure if he is gay or he has a crush on me. I think I should know for sure by now, but I'm not! He is evasive when I ask him questions about himself. Why do I have this strange feeling I was afraid that I could wind up married to him?

Don't waste his time (or money) if you're not interested.

Because he's a wanker. I'm not saying he is a straight guy who plays with himself, for him self abuse is a sexual orientation & an alternative lifestyle. Its like when a man has sex with other men he takes on the characteristics of a woman. He has taken on the characteristics of people who have sex with themselves, adolescents. We were all adolescents, but we turned into adults, he has never made this change and never will. The other guys you have dated and have known for over a year, have either succeeded in getting you to sleep with him or have moved on and found another girl. thats why you know he is not straight. The kind of man you want is a heterosexual adult, he is'nt one. Your subconscious mind is telling you that he is making believe he is something he is not. You dont expect that he would be able to take care of your you and your children. You worry that your kids could wind up with his inferior genes.
you have 2 choices, hurt his feelings by saying no to a 2nd date,or hurt him more by saying no to a 3rd date.

Don't lead him on. You said he's old enough to be bald??? What does that mean? Is he bald? There's no age to becoming bald...
It sounds like you're finding excuses to not go for him just because of his past.
Leave the past in the past

Geez, talk to him...really talk. No beating around the bush and if he's evasive, tell him you aren't interested if he won't be honest.
