Yes. When I lived in China I ate heaps of Lotus flowers. They also make lotus jelly, fried lotus (deep fried in batter) and all kinds of different things.
Not a huge fan of it though..

Wow! The pics seem to be of something out of a green martian movie or something! Yuck.
But I have had curry made from the stocks, or stem, whatever you call it. It was nice.

No, but people say that it´s a very powerful flower. Yet, you may taste it thru Yoga practice.
