This is a point that I ponder constantly and use to help me make decisions in my life on a daily basis. I want the answer to this question to be "yes" for my life. I want to do things that will make a difference in the community where I live long after I'm gone and I want to raise my kids in a way that our family values will be carried on after I'm gone. - - - I think it's a conscious decision that we make to live purposefully so our life does have meaning...or we squander the opportunity we've been given.

To me, if I were to live that long, it would. Just imagine the advances that will have been made by then. It's not the world that is stupid, it's some of the people who populate it that are. Of course the above depends on if there will be there is still a "world" here as we know it. By then there might not be one left for us to matter or worry about.

The question is what can you do to make a difference to someones life. If you can make a difference to someones life then you will matter in 100 years.
There is a real accurate saying for exactly this question but infortunately I can't remember it at the moment.
