I'm afraid I don't know what the problem is, but I had that problem with a car that I had as well, and no matter how many times I had it in...they couldn't fix it. It ended up being a dangerous situation, so I sold it, and someone ended up putting a new engine in it. I swear that car spent more time at the mechanic's than it did with me that summer.

I had the same exact problem with a car I used to have. I took it to the dealership several times and they could never "duplicate the problem". I ended up getting rid of it.

Out of curiosity, what car are you driving? Mine was a '96 VW Jetta.

Sounds like a fuel problem. You may have a dirty/clogged fuel filter. Go to your local auto parts store (Auto zone Pep Boys) and buy a new one. $5 max for the part. Its easy to install yourself. Just read your cars users manual and locate where the fuel filter is located, and once you find it, it will be easy to install the new one. Tools needs: A screwdriver.

It kinda sounds like your car may be overheating. I would try replacing your thermostat. Also, do your cooling fans run after a few minutes of driving? But in all honestly, without saying what kind of car you drive, its hard to say.
