Should he stay in nursing school and keep working or just stop going to school. In simpler terms... Should he stay in school? His school time cuts into work time and he could be making more money if he wasn't in school. What is your opinion please?

Nurses make darn good money...is he making that kind of money now? Does he have job security where he is now? Does he have good benefits? Does he have a profession that can take him anywhere in the US and he can find work? Staying in school may be a hardship but this nation is experiencing a nursing shortage and as baby boomers age there will only be more demand for nurses. Sit down together, work out a budget that will help cut bills and expenses and try to keep him in school. You will appreciate it down the road I think. In the Mission TX area they are paying $45 per hour for nurses. Does he make that much? I hope you work it out.

Stay in school...... The nursing degree with provide both of you with a high income, job security, and he will get job satisfaction. You will both enjoy these benefits for a long, long time. The money he passes up now e will recover many times over in the long run. Him quitting now would be like opting to not put money in a retirement account, sure you would have a little more spending now, but in the future you would have much less

My wife is an LPN and makes about $16 an hour. With another year of schooling, that would jump to about $22 an hour.

Have him do the math and decide whether his current job will be able to compete.

Can he make more money once he finishes school? How long does he have left to complete his program? How's he doing in the program...ie. can he handle the assignments, does he understand the subject manner? Can your marriage withstand putting in without for awhile in order to be financially more secure in the long run?

Talk about it with him and decide whats more important for your family....planning for your future or having more money now.
