Belly dancers do, in fact, learn to spot (pick one object, usually at eye level to focus on between turns ) when they do fast turns, like SHANAY turns. It helps to keep from getting dizzy. The "normal" movements of the dance, like hip drops, shimmies and so on, don't cause dizziness at all though. It is hard exercise and might cause heavy breathing like when you run or walk really fast. Personally I have danced for over five years and I can't remember ever getting really dizzy but I don't do a whole lot of fast spins...

Any dancer that turns is taught to "spot" while turning. This is so you don't get dizzy, regardless of how fast or how many turns you are doing.

To spot, you fix your eyes on a focus point in the room (or where ever you are dancing). While keeping your eyes fixed on the spot, begin to turn your body, leaving your head and eyes. Turn as far as you can, and when you cannot turn anymore, then snap your head around and look for your spot! It takes practice, but it really helps a dancer not to get dizzy. And if you do get dizzy, you can always jump or bounce up and down a few times to right yourself.

Smiles.

Practice. The same for ballerinas. There are tricks around it. They learn how to move their heads right with their body so that they don't get too dizzy. But with belly dancing, it is more about the hips than the head or upper body, so it's more difficult to get yourself dizzy.

It is because their bodies get used to the types of movements they do so they do not feel the same effects as beginners. When they start belly dancing they do get dizzy but bodu soon finds a memory. I am a trainer

Because belly starts with B and dizzy starts with D. Just kidding. I do not know the answer.

Could be like ballet dancers who are taught to "spot". You look at a fixed object as long as you can as you turn and quickly return the look after the spin. Ballet dancers spin a lot faster than belly dancers.

Thats because they ziggle their bellies and dont wiggle their heads. A "whirling dervish" might get dizzy because they are more likely to rotate like a top and have their heads slosh around like a giantwheel ride.

Y would they get dizzy when they don't turn in circles the swing their hips from side to side. I could see them getting winded for moving so fast but not dizzy

It comes by practice, may be

If you keep your eyes in the same direction in which you are spinning, then may be you will get dizzy.

but what if you see in the oposite direction, you may not get dizzy.

I think this is how they do it.
