I would vote Sanjaya Malakar off! His performance was awful!

Supposedly, she went to see a taping of "Are you smarter than a 5th grader?" with tickets that also entitled her to see a dress rehersal of American Idol.
At the dress rehersal, she was so emotional that the producers porposely invited her to see the taping & sit near the front (so the cameras could find her).

I also heard that Sanjaya is still in because Indian call centers are calling the show.

Actually, I don't understand why people are trying to say that annoying crying girl was staged as one of Sanjaya's fans. She was crying at ALL the performances. Not just Sanjaya's.
And I thought Sanjaya's performance was his best one yet on the show. He finally came out of his little innocent shell and rocked out... or at least he tried to. He gets an A for effort in my book.
I'd pick Phil Stacey to get voted off. At least Sanjaya has a boyish cutness to him. Phil just looks weird to me. He has an amazing voice and everything but I have to look away from the TV to enjoy his performance!

The girl and her tears were real, the sad part is...
1. I think it is foolish for anyone to get that excited about a bunch of people who 3 months ago were NOBODY and most of the will end up NOBODY.
2. FOX should be ashamed for bringing so much attention to it, way to try and raise ratings FOX.
I think Sanjaya should go, I think he should have gone long ago, but the little girls of the world like the one last night are the ones carrying him through....not his talent.
There are only about 4 people on the show with enough talent to win this IF it is based on singing talent.
1. Lakesha
2. Melinda
3. Chris
4. Blake
Those 4 are the top performers in my opinion. I will have to say however, that I have not been thrilled with the shows overall, "Brittish Invasion" week.....are they serious??? Last week Songs of Dianna Ross ??? Gimmie a break, over 1/2 of the songs have hardly been heard of and of the ones we have heard of, they are in the pretty distant past. Can you have something more current or well known to vote on??

Sanjaya is always awful and gave his best performance last night. Sure I've seen better on karyokee nights, but he'll make it, even if he is the worst singer left. Phil is getting voted off--he has a voice but no one cares about him.
I don't think the crying girl was staged, but they sure did give her all the camera time.
The funniest part for my imagination was at the end--they showed a cute girl (I'll call her jealous girl) in the front row about the same age as crying girl, and I had to fill in the blank on her thought bubble with: "I'm here and in the front row, and this blonde acts like a basketcase and gets to meet all the singers! Not fair--at least I'd be able to talk to them without getting them all wet!"

Yes that little girl was crying during Sanjaya's performance. In my perfect world, she'd be crying because she was sick and tired of having to watch him perform each week. But I think she was crying because she was mesmorized by him. Though I think the little girl was actually at a Disney Hannah Montana concert, and was somehow cropped in during the Sanjaya performance. It was HIGH on the cheese scale.
I've been wanting Sanjaya gone for weeks. He was decent last night though. So I'm thinking Stephanie or Phil will bite the dust tonight.

I think the little girl was completely overcome with emotion! I have a tendency to cry when I'm completely happy, so I can relate! It was just an intense situation for her!
I wanted Sanjaya off a while ago. Being so young, he's not really ready for the big time! He was better last night, but still not that good of a singer!

i have said Sanjaya since america first started voting, but he's still there and my hopes are that once all the good ones are voted off the people will still be voting and eventually he will be gone, i compare him to the next william hung and not an american idol.
the little girl crying was crap, no one will want to see her upset and they'll keep him for another round. Lord help us if they do!

If Sanjaya doesn't leave this week then I don't know what will happen to AI. He is the worst singer and then that little girl crying, give me a break. His time on AI should have been up.

Honestly I wasn't impressed by any of them.. as for Sanjaya... that wasn't staged... that girl geniunely cried... at the same time made that boy famous... whether he wins idol or not.. he has got pop star for the younger crowd written all over him........
