hiya all
I'm a 20-something crossdresser who would dearly love to go out publicly dressed up. I don't dress 'tarty' - i dress conservatively in a dark skirt suit, baby pink blouse, kitten heels, 15 denier stockings and have the underwear to match! i also wear a wig and have nice make up. Trouble is, i can't seem to make it out the door - its really frustrating. What can i do to get me out there? plus i also would love some make up advice or where i can get such advice from :-) eyeshadows are difficult!! what goes with blue eyes and/or my baby pink blouse?
Thanks
Stacy

Just take a deep breath and walk out the door with your head held high. As long as you're confident, people wont bat an eyelid. Good luck! :)

hi
Im not an expert on this sort of thing but what about arranging to go somwhere that cross dressers are accepted such as a club etc, im sure you could find somwhere on the net. Then booking a taxi from your home. (use a different taxi service than you usually would if it helps). having a couple of wines as your getting ready and then when the taxi beeps outside just bite the bullet and go for it. Maybe after doing this a few times it may seem easier to go out in general dressed as a woman. If this seems to daunting do you have a friend that could go with you?? Im a 20 somthing female also with Blue eyes and i oftem wear Pink. I think a nice grey eyeshadow usually looks nice when i wear pink.

Hi Stacy
I'm loving the sound of your outfit, BTW.
Why not set yourself a little target, maybe just walk around the block first then back to the safety of your home. Then see if you feel brave enough for a longer walk next time. Just build up gradually until you are super confident and can stroll around without a care in the world.
In terms of eye shadow, there are loads of places on-line with make up tips, try the link below. I would think that you could wear most colours, but go for natural shades like brown and cream and maybe soft pinks to create a subtle, feminine look.

going out in publin is a huge step, metaphorically its like trying to climb a staircase in 2 steps! so take it in small steps with small tasks, perhaps first, go to the door and just stand ther as if you're checking something, or how about the next time you go to collect post/milk/watever force urself to be a girl doing it. However you do it, dont do it for the sake of going out dressed, try distract urself! make-up, look at ads in local papers from girls giving lessons, give them a ring and ask them are they comfortable working with a crossdresser, i did that, and the response was very positive
hope i help in sum way

Stacy I have offered twice on here to help TV's and Pre opTS's. I have had very little response but those that have responded seem happy with my advice. I will try this one last time and then I am not trying again. I am a post op TS so know what I am talking about. If you or anyone in the same position wants to chat to me then my addy is pauline.neild@btinternet.com

Stacy: First, your outfit sounds great!
Next, take a deep breath and go for it. My first steps outside while dressed were at night and then I ventured further. Try going out in a town away from yours and have fun with it.
As far as eye makeup, less is always more. I like using neutral shades (I have blue eyes myself). There are plenty of great sites that can help you with doing your eyes. I think doing eyes, is the most fun in applying makeup.

See if there's a store in your area for crossdressers & go there & get some help. You can always ask a female friend that you know to help you dress as a girl, you'd be suprised how many girls would love the chance to dress-up a guy as a girl.

Getting out the door is hard for fear of being "caught" and ridiculed. Once you do it you will find it to be easier the next time. It might be easier if you knew other crossdressers and you could go out in a group. I wish you the strength to get out and I send hugs of support.

What would you wear if you were a girl based on where you're going, season, time of day. Blend in, don't stand out. I envy your courage. Im too old to cd in public but I use to love halloween. Do you drive? Drive to a store lot with a friend. Enjoy
