could be a few possible problems depending on your machine....Lid switch could be bad ...this is a common problem....pump could be stopped up by some foreign material such as a babies sock....or pump drive coupling could be broke ...you can drain water though by removing drain hose from drain and lowering it into a bucket so you dont have to dip water out...if pump is stopped up this will not work....if water will drain it should spin if lid switch is not bad once water level falls below a certain point....

if this happened during a wash cycle ur motor may have given out or the belt could have broken depends on the age of the machine or if u just moved in the drain hose is not high enough past the drain level if u have clothing inside and a floor drain hold washer hose 2 the floor drain water or most will drain out if no floor drain use a bucket remember to put drain hose back up or u will have water all over between dumping out the buckets

I had a problem with water draining out of my washing machine. You need to remove all of the clothes (put them in a laundry basket on top of a blanket until you get it fixed). It turns out that I had one of my 3 year old son's socks stuck in underneath the spinner. It could just be that you have a piece of clothes stuck underneath the spinner keeping it from draining.

if the machine will not pump the water out, take the drain hose, in the back of the machine and lower it down below the water level and gravity will do the work. just raise it back up above water level to stop the flow.

Check the switch that is depressed when you close the lid, to make sure it is getting "pushed." Our dryer safety switch is broken and we have to place something in the hole to make it drain. It's a pain but we make it work. Good luck.

It may be the door latch. I had the same problem happen to me. And come to find out it was a quick fix. Either you can do without it or replace it. You dont have to get rid of the washer either. Check and see if the lid latch is broken.....and if it is, I am sure that that is your problem.

Good Luck!!!
