No. You parked in an illegal zone. It is for emergency use only and going to get a coffee does not exactly constitute as an emergency. The reason they probably didnt tow your car before was because they assumed u had some sort of emergency. It would then be wrong to get towed for it but once they realize youre only there for a cup of coffee then they probably waited for you and called once u got there. Regardless of what the situation maybe you have no defense. Your excuse is not good enough and you have nothing going for you.
Just pay the fine and move on. Pursuing this will be just a waste of your time as well as those involve. I'm pretty sure judges and the tow truck guy has something better to do than discuss your incident.

What do you mean: do I have a case . A case of what ? A case of bad judgment maybe. You deserve everything you got . Suck it up and be a better person for it rather than to put the blame on them .
They probably let you get away with it for a while but it got out of hand so they were ready for you .
The day will come when you have an emergency and someone will be parked in a space where you should be able to go. See what it feels like to walk with a broken hip to get help.

No, you don't have a case. At all.
There was a guy once at Publix on a Saturday afternoon, who pulled his new 430 Lexus into a handicap parking spot. The community was mainly an elderly community, but this man was in his 20's, and had no disability (no tag, etc). I thought about my grandmother, who NEEDS those handicap spots because she IS disabled. I politely asked him, "Sir, could you move your car out of that spot so that disabled people could use it?". He responded "No, that's OK, my car is fine there", and he chuckled. I said "No, sir, you really need to move your car, or we're going to have a problem". He responded "Listen, buddy, I can call my attorn-..." and at that point I kicked him in the face. I beat the s*** out of that pompous jack-***.
You're not above the rules. Emergency spots are saved for emergencies. Handicap spots are saved for the handicap. You're just another person that's too lazy to park 10-20 feet away to get your latte-frappa-cappa-mocha-mocha whatever. My girlfriend's the same way. I swear to God she freaks out if she has to walk more than 10 feet to get anywhere. She's constantly late for everything because she insists on sitting and waiting for a spot next to the door to open up. Pathetic.

ABSOLUTELY! You can sue the hospital for putting in the Dunkin Donuts ("attractive nuisance"), the tow truck operator for refusing your bribe ("negligence"), your watch for OBVIOUSLY not being able to keep accurate time (because unless the hospital called the Starship Entgerprise and they beamed the tow truck there, it took longer than 2 minutes), the police for entrapment (obviously, if they were waiting and watching for you to commit the same crime TODAY that you commit EVERY day, they "entrapped" you), and your local city or county government (for putting these bogus restricted parking spaces in front of something as worthless as an E/R when there is a Dunkin Donuts to be patronized)!
Now, just give me, your friendly lawyer, mmmmmm.... $15,000 for fees and costs and to fund your litigastion, and I'll give you no guarantee of success, but the high likelihood that you will end up on every "Isn't this outrageous?" segment of every newscast across the country. You'll be FAMOUS!

Um, you're screwed. Unless you were using the hospital, you were on their property illegally parked. Get over yourself. If you were there for 1 second, you deserved to get towed.
Good luck pressing charges on the company as well, if they didn't do anything wrong, you'll get nothing except a judge that is going to look at you and laugh.

Is this question a joke?
seriously.
there's absolutely no case, and no excuse for your behavior. while you may just be running in to get your coffee, you have no regard for those people who truly need to park in the EMERGENCY space that you so selfishly took.
I work in EMS and, when an 80 year old family member of someone I've transported has to walk because someone with your mentality has taken up their space, not only does it frustrate and anger me, it saddens me to see them slowly making their way toward the door from the back parking lot just to be able to ensure their loved one is ALIVE when we arrive at the ED doors.
Wow, you're a real winner.
Enjoy your hundred dollar cup of coffee there, dude.

what wrong with a regular parking space!!!! What if someone with a real emergency had come up and needed to get a loved one or a sick child into the emergency room. You were very wrong to do this. You are a perfectly healthy person - you can park and walk to get your coffee

No. The only way to get out of an impound fee is to argue that the area was not clearly marked.

Nope........ You broke the law by parking illegally. It is their right to have your vehicle towed at your expense. Its just like people parking in handicapped spaces. If they get towed they can't use the defense "I only ran in for a minute"... wrong is wrong. You have no case.
