I did not realize they were to be tipped. I thought it was just in the restaurant industry. I'm at the point with the service industry that I don't wait for the survey, feedback questionaire to come. I take care of the problem at the point in time. You should have stopped her, mid-massage, and informed her that she was not doing it correctly as you instructed and requested another massuse or spoken to the supervisor.
They were gonna wash the sheets between customers anyway so to clean up ketchup was part of the process anyway. Come to think of it that looked bad on your part. You left the ketchup in the "appropriate" where?!?!?!?!

Ketchup is not only rude but gross, because the massage therapist probably thought that you started your period and bled all over the place. And then she had to clean all your blood clots up. That is way worse than 2 cents.

I've never come across a massage therapist that was that bad....She must not have wanted to massage you for some reason....maybe she could tell what a "classy" lady you are...
ohh and they dont have to clean the mess up they just put the linens in bags for linen services......

Either way is very rude of course. I would have gone for the 2cents though. I once left a waitress a dime and a note that if she had been polite to my 2 year old rather than get all nasty when she spilled a drink she would have gotten a real tip.

Either is rude. I think you got your point across. I'm sure they put up with enough crap as it is, let alone have to clean up ketchup off the sheets. Make sure you never go back, that way both you AND she will be much happier.

The ketchup is probably more rude, since she has to clean that stuff up. Rude to the person you're doing it to, but funny to those of us who get to hear about it.

*chuckling* actually, the best way was to give her no tip at all. about the ketchup, i think it was kind of pointless. she probably thot that u were a whacko who steals ketchup packets from the resturant and u deserved wut u got.... a bad massage! and to show her ur disapproval, u cud hv told her that u intend to tell all ur friends NOT to come to u.... now THAT wud hv been insulting and jeopardizing threat to her newly founded business!

for me...neither is right. you could have told her in a civil way
that she was rude, that you will say a complain to the management if she continues to be rude with the other
costumers.
