Totally. Anything like that or computational biology, biomedical engineering, medical physics, biostatistics, genetics, are the best and brightest fields you could pick. Anything the combines technology and health. Then come up with a way to compress all the data, as its exploding.

You could choose any thing out of the following options.
a) BTech in Biotechnology
b) Integrated MTech in Biotechnology
c) BTech in Computer Science & Engineering
I have heard that there are some BTech in Bioinformatics courses but I won't recommend you to take those because it's better to take that in MSc.
The most important thing is you complete your BTech from a good college/institute for example IITs, RECs and achieve some good CPI/CGPA/percentage.
It depends really on your interest. If you want to do some Bioinformatics stuff but with wet lab experience try BTech in Biotechnology and if you want pure computational biology stuff then try BTech in Computer Science and in both cases try BTech project and summer training in some Bioinformatics company. I think it's still too early to decide anything. Concentrate on +2 and prepare for IITJEE.

hai I am Varun
I don't know in which subject you are interested. So, I will give some guidlines which may help you.
Concentrate on your +2 exams and score an aggreate of 85%or above then write both MCET and CET(Karnataka). Then it's better to choose BE Computer Science. If you keep scoring same percentage in BE then yop companies will come and hire you. They will offer Rs.15000/- per month in the beginning.
IT is the booming industry. They require lots and lots of freshers. So, think twice or thrice before taking a decision.

Do get into biotech. If IT is the order of today, then biotech is the order of tomorrow. U'll definitely need to get a masters degree to be well placed in a company or into research. But u'll be earning more than ur IT counterparts after a few years.U dont have the monotony of IT.Its exciting.Make sure u get very high scores in ur +2 and get into a college which has good reputation and infrastructure as it is very essential.Wish u good luck!

Well I agree with Modi above but its better to do what you like doing.
Money is important but as long as you get enough money to live comfortably, at that point what you do does matter.
Both the fields are booming so you have a choice of either one..
you make big money either ways.
