i just got married a month ago, and started taking birth control shortly after. this is my first time taking birth control, and as my cycle is fairly irregular, i was informed that the control would help regulate it. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten mine yet, even though this is my "rest" week? How long does it take to regulate your cycle? Does this mean i'm preggers?

It could take some time... if you think you may be pregnant you should get a test done ASAP and get off the birth control if you are...it can cause issues.

If a HPT(depending on how far along you may be) or blood test (better to do because of your irregular periods) comes back negative for pregnancy you will want to wait for your period before getting to worried.

This happened to me as well when I first got married. If there is no reason for you to think that you are pregnant than continue your pills on their cycle. Your period may come at the end of your rest week or the begining of the next week. Your period will most likely be lighter than normal because it is earlier than it is used to. Give your body at least 3 months for it to get used to the new hormone levels you are giving it.

I am the same way. For me, I would have periods about once every four months. But when I got on the pill it regulated immediately. It will come after the rest week. On another note, Hubby and I are trying to conceive and found out that my ovaries don't ovulate often - which is why my cycles were so off. I encourage you to check with your doctor to make sure your ovaries are heathy and that your hormones are regular. Sometimes women like us suffer from polycystic ovary syndrome. We found that mine just won't ovulate - but they are healthy.

Good Luck!!

Sometimes it takes up to 3 months. The same think happened to me (I ended up just totally skipping a cycle).

If you just started a month ago, call your OB/GYN, tell them, they may want to switch the type of pill you are taking. You are probably not pregnant, but I would do a home test in a couple days, just to be sure.

Sorry...if you want a healthy child stay away from pills!
Why do you think man and woman are together?
