Maybe. Some women with PCOS ovulate on their own, and some don't. The only way to know is to use OPKs or charting your bbt and other fertility signs. You can get OPKs from most stores by the pregnancy tests, or read more about charting at the website Fertilityfriend.com or in the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility.

You're right though, that you don't need to have cysts to have PCOS. Cysts are only one symptom. Soulcysters is a great PCOS resources as well.

You can go to www.google.com and find numerous websites on PCOS. You can also go to www.babycenter.com and go to the message boards for PCOS and speak to other women with it.

I have it and can tell you, the only way to know if you ovulate is by temping and maybe prediction kits. I have two children, but have stopped ovulating and I am 25. I do have the cysts but when I lose weight, they stop. When I gain, they are chronic. You need to chesk your LH levels and you can do that with the kits I mentioned or you can temp like I said. The book Taking Charge of Your Fertility should be at your local library and it teaches you how to use it. you can use www.fertilityfriend.com to have an electronic chart to look at.

Good Luck and I hope you continue to stay in a healthy weight and have no cysts.

What you said doesn't exactly make sense to me. PCOS is Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome. So to say you have it but have no cysts just doesn't make sense. If you don't have cysts, then you don't have PCOS in my mind. Yes, you still ovulate. I have PCOS, I have cysts, I still ovulate, I had 6 children before undergoing an endometrial ablation for fibroid tumors.
