Not at all. Long ago, the birth control pill was used to regulate periods and it made women more fertile. I used it for 20 years and became pregnant with my daughter within 2 months. You've been trying long enough such that you should have your signficant other tested, and if he is okay, you should go. Good luck to both of you!

I was on for about that long when my first born son died and I decided to come off so I could get pregnant again. It took almost 2 years before I got pregnant. Beleive it or not but you can actually try so hard that your body doesn't cooperate. I was just before going to a fertility doctor when I came across some information about low sperm count. We finally started trying by the calender, marking the days that I would be ovulating and ONLY having sex during that time. There's only like 3 days that you can actually get pregnant during a cycle. that was 16 years ago and I don't remember it all, but you could probably find out about it online or just ask your doctor. When we let our guard down and quit concentrating on it so much....Wham...I began feeling symptoms after 1 week of conception and I just knew it. One morning I got up and looked in the mirror and I knew I was pregnant. That same day my husband came home from work, looked at me and immediately said, "you're pregnant aren't you?" It was only a week later that I went to have it confirmed. Sure enough, I was approximately 3 weeks. Relax, try to take your mind off of it. I had 3 kids and I loved being pregnant!! It's an awesome experience! GOOD LUCK! I

I am wondering the same thing,I have been off the pill for over 4 years now and we have been really trying for about a year or so now and still nothing.I was marking my days on the calender and all that fun stuff now I just have sex and hoping for the best.In my case I have been thinking its me cause hubby has an 8 year old daughter. And my Dr says its nothing but has not sent me for test.Have you tried the kits yet?Heard they work.If so let me know if its worth buying. All the best to both of you.

No, that is a myth. I was on the pill for almost 15 years and got pregnant very fast. It does take time for your body to regulate itself after the pill but not 16 months. I think you and your partner need to look into a fertility specialist. Good luck to you.

It can take up to 2 years to get pregnant when you stop birth control. However I got pregnant the same month I stopped taking mine. You should talk to your doctor. Other factors such as age and general health can affect your chances.
