I just bought an iMac last night. Great, but I have huge files (videos purchased on iTunes) and mp3s to move. Any tips on how I can do this as quickly as possible without having to pay boatloads in the process for any extra hardware? Thumbs up go to all useful answers and the ten points will go to the answer I use to move them. Sorry, but sending out a case of Bawls (for the unlearned, it's the ultimate energy-boosting soft drink) over the net is kinda hard to do. Thanks, ye mechanics of the future.

Connect them somehow, for instance, connect them both to a router, or connect them using a cross over cable. If using a router DHCP will assign IP. If using a cross over, set manual IP's on each machine. Once connected, on the MAC goto system preferences, click on sharing, put a check in Windows Sharing, click on enable accounts and select an account to login with. Save you changes by clicking ok. Now on the windows machine, right click on my network places and select search for computers. Put in the IP of the MAC, when it finds it double click it and login in using the account you selected on the MAC. Now you will have access to your MAC hard drive. Now just copy and paste.
Email me if you need more detail as this is kinda general.
