did anyone see Life on Mars last night. I fell asleep and missed the last five minutes. Please put me out of my misery and tell me who did it.

If its any help its usually repeated on BBC4 after nextweeks episode.
If not here goes:
Sam was knocked out by the medication he was on and watched most of the end on a TV.
Annie found out that the father of the murdered girl had the kidnapped mother and daughter because he thought that the police arrested the wrong person. They were saved and Sam came round - it was still assumed that the boy in prison was the murderer until the very end when they realise that the oil found on the rag was an oil used on wood and therefore the man who's family was kidnapped was the culprit - He was cleaning the gym equipment the day she was murdered. Gene and Sam arrested him - The End.
So in answer - it was the teacher man who's family was kidnapped that was the murderer.

it never actually said who did it but was heavily hinted that it was the coach that had killed the girl.
The oil found on the rag was oil used for polishing wood, which he said he was doing when she left. Also he was looking at some young girl on a bike. it ended with Sam & gene going over to have a word with him.
i assume you saw the bit where thay found the hostages in the murdered girls fathers shed ?

ooo it was good that episode wasnt it. Better than last weeks boring story. well shot and constructed too, got excited about the series again. I am a complete melon head who cant rmemebr the last 5 mins tho agggh
