Do you mean you cant lock & unlock your car?
you have a bar that leads from the key solenoid to the latch and to the button, chances are a bar fell off.

Maybe report to BMW / München / Deutschland and they`ll
come arunning, why? first time for everything..lol

Could be that your central locking solenoid is not working.
