Recently, our local hospital has implemented a Dunkin Donuts within its main lobby... I have found that there is NO LINE there in the morning and have been going there to get my morning coffee (since the other Dunkin Donuts in town have a wait upwards of 20 minutes).

I normally park in the emergency parking area so I can run in and get my coffee, and up till this morning I have not had an issue. Today, my car was on the 'hooks' of a flat bed and they were moving it on when I came out. I tried to discuss this with the tow truck guy, even offering him a bribe but he REFUSED to take my car off the hooks.

I felt this guy was VERY rude to me and I'm thinking of pressing charges against the tow truck company...I was in that parking spot for less than 2 minutes and he had my car...it was almost like he was waiting for me...

do I have a case against him and my 100.00 impound fee?

not really. getting coffee is not an emergency. someone at the hospital probably noticed your morning forays into their lobby and got annoyed and set this up with the towing company. He's probably on a retainer with the hospital for this purpose (towing cars parked in unauthorized areas) and his contract with them is far more lucrative for him then your bribe. suck it up and park in a legit spot and walk an extra 1/4 mile or wait in line at the other dunkin sites.

Your car got towed because you had a case of stupidity!, and now you want to sue?! Let us reiterate, hospital emergency parking is for emergencies, not for a caffeine fix. Got it? Good.

If you were parked illeaglly then you have no case. However if you were parked in a spot that is open to public yes I would think you would have a case. However think about time and money you will have to invest before you would ever see anything.

Pay the fine. Parking in Emergency spaces is serious.

not for dunking donuts and coffee, that is no excuse.
now if you parked to get a pizza, or even if you where in real emergency, you might have a chance.
