so i was thinking about upgradeing my system because i bought windows vista ultimate and when i play games like coutner strike source, i get like20 or 30 frames per second when i used to get like 100.
I currently have a amd athlon 64-FX 55, nvidia 7800GTX video card, 2 gig of memory and a good lanparty mother board.
I was thinking about upgrade my proccessor to like a amd x2 5500 but then i would have to get a new mother board as that is a am2 chipset and my board takes 939 :( and i was going to upgrade my memory but i got dual channel and i guess it wont work in my mother board because none of the stuff would power up (usb and what not) and it would take for ever to load after a black messed up looking screen.
The question is do i upgrade? it would cost me like 650 at least to upgrade my stuff, and i just dot know the anwser to.... will it actually help my computer with vista ultimate and also with my frames per second in games? or do i just need to wait for new drivers?

btw my laptop has windows vista premium on it and it is running at 100 frames per second give or take. I think it has the core duo proccessor as it is a dell XPS laptop 1710. so what the heck lol. My more powerful desktop is acting like it is 4 years behind in technology???
