so i was thinking about upgradeing my system because i bought windows vista ultimate and when i play games like coutner strike source, i get like20 or 30 frames per second when i used to get like 100.

I currently have a amd athlon 64-FX 55, nvidia 7800GTX video card, 2 gig of memory and a good lanparty mother board.

I was thinking about upgrade my proccessor to like a amd x2 5500 but then i would have to get a new mother board as that is a am2 chipset and my board takes 939 :( and i was going to upgrade my memory but i got dual channel and i guess it wont work in my mother board because none of the stuff would power up (usb and what not) and it would take for ever to load after a black messed up looking screen.

The question is do i upgrade? it would cost me like 650 at least to upgrade my stuff, and i just dot know the anwser to.... will it actually help my computer with vista ultimate and also with my frames per second in games? or do i just need to wait for new drivers?

with all that power and memory and the video card you should be still getting close to 100 fps
if i were you i would spend some time at the Microsoft web site and check in the forums and also under support for know fixes . because vista is so new Microsoft wants you to do all the work in fixing there faulty software. be prepared to spend a lot of time there because what you are looking for maybe machine specific .
to be safe you should never buy any software from Microsoft until it has been on the market place for at least 12-18 months
so all the idiots can work the bugs out for you.you could try to find a bench marking tool fo see what other machines like yours are getting and compare it with yours . hope this help you
good luck and have a nice day

is depend on you because Vista is not suitable for everyone..... but i recommend you to upgrade your system because all games will seriously affect your computer and your system is getting very slow.....
