This would depend on what caused the confrontation
It is far wiser to body & mind to walk away from confrontation .
Do not apologise if you are not in the wrong but explain you have no intention of being verbally or otherwise bashed by anyone and have no intention of staying to be. Then shake your head, express your pity that it's the only way they can resolve issues and walk away, This leaves them with no one to attack and you take the moral high ground, leaving them fuming because you have'nt given them what they wanted (an argument)

Neither. Anger and verbal bashing is a last resort. Secondly I don't apologize if I don't feel I am in the wrong. I'll agree to disagree.
I realize I can't always convince someone of my position; but if it's something I strongly believe in I'm not going to apologize either. I attempt diplomacy and try to appreciate where the other person is coming from, even though I don't always get that in return.
It all depends on the circumstances and the nature of the confrontation (which you do not describe in your question). Not all are alike.

I do neither. I am not one to go over board and get mad, and I am not one to allow others to walk all over. If a confrontation arises, it really all depends on the person and the situation. If is my little sister for example, confrontations always arise!!! I let her say her peice, sometimes I might say mine, and then I leave it a lone. most of the time confrontations are not meant to be personal. Most often they are caused by one friend having a really bad day, taking it out on you. And as the understanding friend that you are you are suppose to not take it personal. People these days really need to lighten up and not take things so personal. If a moment arises and the confrontation is way out of line, why would you waste your energy on someone who is just trying to drag you down. It is tiering and not worth it.

it depends on the situation at hand really. Most of the time i would just let it roll off of my shoulders and go about my business, but sometimes you have to get angry to get your point across that or it was so bad what happened that anger is just the first reaction. If you catch your boyfriend messing around with another women...you wouldnt act rasionaly...you would fly off the handle and do something crazy.

confrontation means that at least one person is short tempered. I will be polite in tackling it. I may say sorry if I feel that I am at wrong. Otherwise, I will simply quit and leave the place. I may request him to calm down and sort it out peacefully. there are many ways to tackle it, but one has to see the situation and the person involved.

It depends on the situation because anger can make you say a lot of things but if I'm in the wrong I'll always apologize but never if i feel that I'm not in the wrong.

i reason with them , speak factually and if its definative they are wrong i just leave it if they dont back down - by being diplomatic u annoy them more cus they know you are in a better position - its also is hard to argue with someone who won't agrue back!
