The average working week I believe starts on Monday, finishes Friday, which is five days over seven, two days off at the weekend.
A job that is specifically advertised as 5 days over 7 to me hints that Monday might not actually be the start of the week for that particular job, is this true?
I only ask because I harbour dreams of joining the Territorial Army (Reserve/weekends) and I don’t want to work weekends for those reasons, apart from that I’d have no problem.
If the industry makes any difference, it is the food industry working as cook in basically a children’s play centre/party centre. Which I'd have no problem working odd weekends, just not every weekend.

It means that you will be working any five days out of the seven. Usually in catering jobs you are deisgnated certain weekends, depending on the number of people they have working, and you would have days off in the week to compensate for this. For example, you might work alternate weekends, and on the weeks you work Sat/Sun, you'd have Weds & Thurs off. Be aware, though, that as catering has a very high staff turnover, you are almost certainly going tobe asked to cover sick leave etc - probably on your weekends off! Ask VERY detailed questions at the interview.

5 days over 7 means that you can be asked to work any of the days of the week including the weekends but you will be given 2 days off per week. It's a nicer way to tell you that you will be required to work weekends!

Sounds to me like 5 days on 2 off, but not necessarily Saturday and Sunday. I have a friend who does alternate weekends, so one week she does Mon to Fri, Sat, Sun off, then the following week works Sat and Sun, but has the Friday and Monday off.

You could be working Monday to Friday the first week. Then week two you could be working Wednesday to Sunday.
The TA had their training days/evenings on no set days. My brother started doing Marine Reserve Training, he was told it would be one whole day at the weekend and one evening during the week. To get paid (bounty) for the trsining you have got to turn up to six sessions out of seven.

Yeah it indicates not a typical Mon-Fri job and it will prob be on a rota/shift work basis as to what days you will get off -so you may be lucky getting some weekends free- it just depends on the timetable!

You ordered it on the 12th. They deliver/mail to you in 5-7 corporation days, meaning it ought to deliver next Thursday (5 days) or maybe not till right here Monday (seventh corporation day). i think of that is not likely yet some businesses (like Amazon) are relatively rapid. Is there any way so which you could improve your delivery from wide-unfold/floor to expedited? additionally, are you waiting to track the kit with the aid of united statesor despite provider they use?

not sure where you're at, but here in the states, an employer is required to give you time off for guard duty. and they can't use it to discriminate against you.
