The GOP minority on the EPW committee agreed to the 30 minute opening statement.

But then Gore demanded a waiver of the EPW committee’s 48 hour rule that requires all witnesses before EPW to submit their testimony in advance. The GOP minority on the EPW committee then agreed to waive the 48 hour rule in favor of allowing Gore to submit his testimony 24 hours before the hearing.

But in a breaking news development on Capitol Hill -- the former Vice President has violated the new 24 hour deadline extension by failing to submit his testimony – even with the new time extension granted to Gore.

As of 8pm ET Tuesday evening, the testimony still has not been received by EPW, a clear violation of committee rules.

The word on Capitol Hill says not to expect Gore’s testimony to the Senate EPW committee until Wednesday (March 21) -- the day of the hearing.

It appears that Gore does not believe the same rules apply to him that apply to every other Senate EPW witness.

Not to say he is pompous, but according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, June 18, 2004 and the Washington Post, June 14, 2004, he made the following statement.
"I'm very familiar with the importance of dairy farming in Wisconsin. I've spent the night on a dairy farm here in Wisconsin. If I'm entrusted with the presidency, you'll have someone who is very familiar with what the Wisconsin dairy industry is all about."

LOL, do you think he spent the night in a Holiday Inn Express?

The issue goes beyond Al Gore. It goes beyond the US Senate. I don't care what either of them says or does or the square footage of Gore's house. What I care about is the level of threat posed by global warming. There is some debate among scientists over the cause but there is little debate over the fact of and rate of climate change.
If the cons want to turn this into a political issue because of a hatred of Al Gore then I can't stop you. However if you;re wrong, and global warming truely is a threat, then you're bringing the rest of us down with you just to try and score some political points.

No, he just wants to save our children from certain death.

Why don't you?

I think Al Gore is a RLP, that is, a Really Liberal Person.

At President Bush's last State of the Union Address, he said how important it is that we do something about global climate change, so how come you bash Al Gore for trying to do what President Bush wants?

Oh, wait, it is partisan politics and nothing else with you!

Probably will assert there was "no controlling authority".

I like how Dr Spencer was purposely scheduled last. I wonder if the New York Pravda will cover any of his testimony in today's issue?

Sounds all very complicated, and, strikes one that procrastination, not hypocrisy is at play. Gore believes in his cause, therefore, uses his public persona to speak about global warming. You might disagree with his ideas, but, why call a man a hypocrite for fighting for something he believes in?

Pompous is a word best reserved for conservatives, Liberals understand that sometimes situations are fluid but that is beyond the grasp of Conservatives who generally tend to be anal and seem to suffer from OCD

Al Gore has proven time and again that he is enormously self-inflated. I fail to see the attraction to such a pompous charachter.

I thought Gore was a pompous, egotistical hypocrite long before this. But hey, he's a busy guy...
