First off the Indians won't win the division. They're at the bottom with KC. That's not hating on cleveland that's looking at the Twins and Whitesox team. The Tigers have the same roster that took them to the show last year. Only this year they've added Gary Sheffield and will have Sean Casey the entire year. The White Sox lost Freddy Garcia and will not have Podsednick the entire year. But than agains baseball can only go so far on paper.

'whiney sux' blast aside, the Tigers pitching staff, assuming they stay healthy, has the advantage over the Sox, particularly in the rotation. Even if the Sox's rotation recovers from what happened to them late last year, the Tigers staff is still a bit better. Unless the Tigers rotation begins to collapse late this year like the White Sox last year. Then there's trouble...

Pitching, obviously. And remember they've added Jose Mesa to the pen which should provide even morw depth. He can still get a key out at 40 yrs old. Tigers offense should be significantly better with Gary Sheffield penciled in the middle, surrounded by Carlos Guillen and Mags. Twinkies pitching appears suspect, but they always find a way to compete. Cleveland is the team that scares me as Tigers fan. I see the Tigers and Indians duking it out for the Central title, with the ChiSox nipping at their heels...

The Tigers have a better pitching staff than the White Sox. Pitching wins games.

They have awesome pitching,nice young arms,Now they got Sheffield who will do alot of damage,,Oh yes they have a great ,humble,manager,Jim leyland,,the whiney sux have that Big mouth freak of a manager Ozzie, One hit wonders,that's all they were,Just like the Red Sux another one hit wonder team!! Maybe it's something in their SOX!! big cry babies!!

Not pitching,that's for sure.Check the career won-loss records of the Tiger starters.Not all that impressive.I'd say the reason would be that they don't have the Cubs in Detroit.

Pitching wins championships and the Tigers staff is arguably the best in the AL. The Chiney Sox have suspect pitching and their staff is old. Sox go down this year maybe 4th place.
