the UEFA European Cup Winners' Cup has since discontinued after the 1998-1999 season & merged to the expanded UEFA Cup. SS Lazio of ITALY was the last winner when they beat Real Mallorca of SPAIN 2-1 at Villa Park, Birmingham, England. Pavel Nedved scored the last ever goal in this tournament.

The Cup Winners' Cup was abolished as with the expansion of the Champions' League, it was getting increasingly hard to find entrants for the competiton, as often both the domestic cup finalists would have qualified for the Champions' League.
The last winners were Lazio, who beat Mallorca in the final at Villa Park.

They done away with it after the expansion of the Champions' League and the UEFA Cup. The last winners were Lazio, in 1999. They beat Parma in the final at Villa Park, if my memory serves me correct.
