I was wondering if the bluetooth feature allows internet access everywhere and not just near a wireless network

Aw yes ware but were you aware that through blue tooth and a blue tooth on a PC you can sync the X51.
But Ware is 100% on blue tooth is for mainly file sharing with 1 PC and other blue tooth devices.

You are thinking about something like a sprint card that allows internet anywhere. they do have one for the Compact Flash slot that will allow this at a cost of about 60 bucks a month

NO. Bluetooth is a Personal Area Network protocol (which means it only works in-and-around a SMALL area around a person). It has a shorter range than Wi-Fi.

Bluetooth is meant for devices like ear-phones (not for surfing the net).

I own a Axim x51...
