If your doctor okays you to fly and you meet the airline requirements, then you can.

I would call your airline and discuss their rules with them.

When I am 30 weeks, I will be traveling as well. I called my airline to discuss the policies. They told that pregnant passengers can travel up to 36 weeks, but they reserve the right to refuse you onto the plane if they question how far along you really are (for example, if you are carrying all in front or are really big, they may not believe that you are under 36 weeks). The airline representative suggested that to be absolutely sure that I didn't run into trouble once I got to the airport, I get a letter dated shortly before my flight and signed by my doctor with his office phone number on the letter in case they want to call him or at least hear the answering machine to confirm that such a doctor really exists, stating that I am 30 weeks.

The precautions are for the safety of the mother and child. In the event that you go into labor mid-flight, they will need to do an emergency landing but may not be able to get down fast enough if you are a 'quick birther'.

They also said that the air crew will be more than happy to give me a 'seatbelt extension' if I can't get the belt clicked comfortably and reminded me that safety suggests buckling it under the bulge for the safety of the baby.

Oh, just also ask your doctor about the different machines and if they're safe too. I know x-rays are bad for pregnant mothers, I think in hospitals the women who work there have to be especially careful. I know they don't x-ray, but doesn't hurt to ask about the rest.

you can fly up until you are 35 weeks pregnant. But you also need to get a letter from your Dr incase you get stopped at the gate telling you that you can't fly because you are pregnant. But get up and move... and you will swell.

As long as you are in you second trimester you should be fine to travel. I went on vacation and flew at 29 wks. Just tell your Dr. that you are going. Have a good trip.

I would say no, seems not a safe idea. I also knew of someone who miscarried on a plane. You are in a pressurized cabin, not the same as a car

Of course!

Riding on a plane is no worse than riding in a car, pregnant or not.

Yes.

If you give birth while flying across the border it can claim joint nationality!
