my account was hijacked, which ebay told me about before i noticed, a number of false items were listed. which they removed as they knew it had been hijacked, but now they have suspended my account and are demanding i pey the listing fees for these items. they knew they were fradulent in the first place. every email i sent i just get the same automated response back, even when asking for the complains procedure.
Also do they have a governing body in the UK like OFCOM for phones?

Welcome to the wonderful world of eBay 'Computer say No'
-eventually (in say 6 months or so) they will sort it out, however in the meanwhile you can forget about using your accounts and look forward to wasting dozens of hours trying to establish your identity ...

I suggest you start again with a new account, it's simpler in the long run.

Note that Pay Pal is owned by eBay so you need to close that too. If they haven't frozen your account (which they usually do before disputing charges with you) you should withdraw all your funds immediately and cancel any credit cards that they have details of= check your Pay Pal agreement - it lets them charge whatever they like to your accounts and you have no come back.

Next time use a password that's harder to guess - and NEVER EVER click on 'links' in emails ESPECIALLY ones that say things like 'You need to verify you account' or 'Your account will be suspended' or 'Illegal activity on your account' = these are all 'Phishing' emails and may LOOK as if they take you to 'eBay' but you can be sure that when you 'log on' you are simply giving your details away to criminals..

You could try their 'Account Security Live Chat' link, which at least will put you in direct contact with someone at eBay.

The Community forums on eBay are also a good place to pose this question as there are some very helpful members who're very knowledgeable about eBay. I tried this in the past and have found that people are really quick to respond with helpful advice.

If you have a PayPal account, you should definitely change the password immediately.
