I would rather have neither. At least not all at the same time, I wouldn't know how to spend it without wasting it. I would want to get small amounts over a long amount of time, and I would want to budget the money and put it in the right places. In the mean time, I don't need that much money, and if I got it all at once, I would try to give a lot of it away, money is a burden that one person alone can't handle.

£500,000. It would save having to go to the Bureau De Change or The Bank.

I'd take the Million convert it to pounds and go to Scotland.
I just love the idea of having a million dollars although I would need the pounds more in the end.

I would rather have $100,000 because at the current buy exchange rate at my bank I could then exchange this and get £510,600.72 so would then be £10,600.72 better off then if I had gone for the £500,000.

Sterling has aways been the stronger currency, and always will be, so I'd go for the half-mill. A million Dollars will probably only be worth £350K in a years time....
