Because he is a convicted felon and prohibited from carrying a gun, what puzzles many is that although he is not allowed to why don't the others as a safety precaution? A lot of the people they deal with are heavy drug users and dangerous so why don't Leland and Duane carry a weapon just in case? Maybe since Dog can't carry one they don't want to make him look bad, who knows.
