Morals of news channels:
1> Dont's sell news, declare them;
2> Don't hype issues; present them as they are;
3> Don't add your own views towards an issue, let the people decide;
4> Search for positives along with negatives;
5> Analyze the impact of your presentation in terms of social progress and not in terms of mass arousal;
I really don't understand why Shilpa's win at 'Big Brother', or Abhi's & Aish's engagement, or b'days of celebrities, or 'Professor - Student' affair is given so much of hype. A kid emerging out alive of a pit was given coverage for 36 hours. Mumbai blast effects and the schedule of the blasts were covered by the news channels for around a week. However, these channels didn't give equal amount of coverage to the people gathering out in the strets of mumbai to help those blasty victims. The aide provided to the tsunami victims were not elaborately covered but just declared in figures. Celebrities boosting morals of Indian soldiers after the Kargil wart was given a lot of coverage, while a hell lot of Indians were praying for well being of those soldiers, they were praying taht the war would end. No news channel showed anything about this. Why?
All the best...
:-)
