Question about Joan Osbourne's 'What If God Was One of Us'...?

Is the song against God? I really can't understand the meaning of the song. I mean it has a good tune and a really infectious Chorus. But does it have any 'hidden' meaning behind it? And should can a christian sing it freely?

It's asking "What if God was one of us," just an average everyday person. How would treat him? Yes anyone should sing it freely. I don't see any hidden meaning in it.

it's one of those kind of hippie songs..
the song is about treating every one good since you never know who the person is.

i don't think it is a Christan song.
