Power from wind is harnessed only in places where the wind speed is adequate enough to blow 70miles per hour continuously THROUGH OUT THE YEAR. So the wind turbines/fans/or windmills are installed only where there is perpetual wind blow is experienced.Since the flow is throughout wihtout any input of energy wind energy is easily renewed. This renewal of wind power is mainly because of the prevailing wind dierection where the circulation pattern of atmosphere itself is unique factor.

Windmills capable of producing enough energy to power a small town exist, however they are unsitely as hell.

Wind power is becoming a technology that is used in areas where the wind does blow. It is renewable because power is generated when the wind blows, when the wind doesn't blow power is not generated.
