My friend is curently 8 weeks pregnant and she has been throwing up like 12 times a day. She has a 2 year old girl and she was very sick with her as well. She also had a miscarriage a few months back at 6 weeks and was really sick then.
I will be so happy no matter what she has but I am just curious if she could be pregnant with a boy. I am 31 weeks pregnant with a boy and I was only sick twice. I would love my son to have a buddy close to his age...all my friends have little girls so far.

A friend of mine had morning sickness her entire pregnancy with her son but not with her daughter. Otherwise, I would still (in the back of my mind) think I was having a girl if I had morning sickness during pregnancy, only b/c that's how it seems to be with most people I know.
When I was pregnant w/ my son, I didn't experience it even once, I was very lucky.

I am 38 weeks with my second boy. I was extremely sick with this one. I had constant nausea and couldn't hold down anything for 3 weeks straight and lost 14 pounds the first 2 months from vomiting. I continued to be sick after that but was able to finally eat a few things. I had morning sickness with my first also but not as bad as this time. So she could be carrying a boy. I think it just depends on the person and the pregnancy. Good luck to her and sorry for her loss.

I was sick for the first 5 months when i was pregnant with my son. It's a possibility she could be having a boy, but there is no way of knowing for sure.

With my first child, 7 years ago, I WAS SOOOOO SICK.
It never ended, and I have a son.

Now, I'm pregnant with my second, 9 weeks, and I have very little sickness.

My doctor says it's because there were 7 years between pregnancies, and not because of the gender. But, we will find out.

The main cause of morning sickness is a combination of issues related to the chemical changes your body is going through. Mix a pinch of nutmeg powder with a table spoon of gooseberry juice, and take it thrice a day. Sip little by little ginger juice mixed with honey before you get out of bed. More than likley it is a girl but then again i am just guessing. My sister-in-law was pregnant at the same time i was and we were both having girls and we were sicker than dogs and then she got pregnant again and this time it was with a boy but i dont think she was as sick with him as the girl.

Oh my Gosh, I was so sick with my son... So glad that's over. My girl pregnancy was nothing like my boy pregnancy. But I know someone that was as sick as you're describing because she was pregnant with twins! Hmm...?

I had the most morning sickness with my third, a girl. I think morning sickness has more to do with your overall health than anything else.

Is your friend being treated for hyperemesis?
