I am taking a vacation out to the midwest in July (Utah, Idaho, Wisconsin, Montana), and I was wondering: Are there any farms out there that produce Ethanol and/or Biodiesel from crops, and that are open to the public?

Farms themselves don't produce ethanol or biodiesel. The farms produce corn (which can be made into ethanol) and soybeans (which can be made into biodiesel. The crops are processed into fuel at numerous distillation facilities which are located in small towns around the Midwest. You may see these as you drive around. For security reasons, though, most don't generally offer public tours.

... I must say, as a Midwesterner, I find it interesting to hear places like Utah and Idaho called "Midwest". To me the Rockies are Western states, not Midwest, and you won't find a lot of corn or beans grown out West. You may find biofuel facilities in Wisconsin (which is Midwestern and is not particularly close to the other states you mention). The center of the industry is in Iowa and Illinois.
