Me: I met my best friend, Tami, at a church social 12 years ago, and we have been best friends just about since the first time we met. Our first two kids are the same age, then she went on to either have or adopt 5 more!

This may not be what your looking for? But my Best Freind is my 25-Year Old Son. Not for nothin'? He's just a lot of fun to be around. And he helps me feel proud of who I am. Isn't that the essence of a Best Friend? I hang with other People. But really enjoy my time with him. And I met him as he was being born.

I had been off school for a few days and when I returned a new girl had joined our year. She was sitting in my seat in the first lesson so I didn't get much of a chance to meet her at first, but then we had a History lesson and she was sat at my table. It was an exam about Roman History and when we had completed it she asked me what I had put on the question about 'Why did the Romans build roads'. She didn't know as she hadn't done anything about it at the school she was at previously. I told her because it would be easier to get around over the land and so they could trade and move the army around etc and she went very quiet and I asked what she put. She blushed as she told me that she had written 'so they wouldn't get run over'. Well that was when I knew that we'd be friends forever as I couldn't stop laughing (and I still find it funny to this day). Then I found out she lived on the next street to mine so we just started hanging out any chance we had. I met her in 1983 and even though she moved to the other end of the country four years later I still consider her my best friend and we still write and send cards to each other every year even though we don't get to see each other very often.

We had just moved to a new town, knew no one. We had lived in our house about 2 weeks, I had given up hope of any neighbors who spoke. I was in the front yard working on the flowers, when she appeared like an angel. We began talking and have been friends ever since. That was 24 years ago. We live a long distance apart now, but still the best of friends.

I met my best friend on my very first day of school 45 years ago, we were both crying for our moms so the teacher took us to one side, gave us a biscuit and some juice to try to cheer us up and that was that, we became friends and thankfully we still are to this day, we don't see each other as often as we would like to but we are both always there if the other needs it.

We met when we were just 7 years old, we were in the same class. Although I moved to another town when I was 10, we still keep in touch and we've been friends now for over 19 years.

I met my best friend, Fran, at school about... 12 years ago. I met her beside the dressing up box and for some reason told her I was sisters with this other girl who was there.

Good times.

I met the friend that I spend the most time with through my 'begging' tendencies. Whenever we need a donation for whatever I happen to be volunteering my time to, I am generally the person that gets sent. (I smile a lot, and can be very convincing... and usually the worst thing you'll hear is a 'no'.) He is the manager of a local store. I disliked him on sight. Luckily, circumstance forced us together, and he is now one of the type of friends that you keep for life... regardless of where our travels may take us.

We met at school in the Seniors, went out chasing boys together - on holidays together, became bridesmaids for one another, made one another God parents for our children, met up at least twice a year for 39 years, shared experiences, secrets over the telephone every week. Attended one an others major family events, became closer then any sisters could be.
She died 4 year back of cancer and I miss her so much.
I firmly believe that YOUR FRIENDS ARE YOUR CHOSEN FAMILY.
