can I just say to Puerto Rican Chica- yes I am from scotland- and whoopeee- but what the hell has that to do with my question exactly.

When people talk about bridging in math, it typically refers to a situation when a student has a certain level A of math knowledge, but needs to be at a different (higher) level B of math knowledge for a required course.

Bridging is providing additional instruction to the student to bring them up to the required level B of math knowledge.
