Health and Safety advice please. No windows, room too small?

Question

They want to move us (four people) to a smaller room with no windows. I am worried about the heat the pc's (four) give off. Not to mention the germs that can't escape. The room measures 16 feet by 10 feet.
p.s I work in the NHS!!

Cathandmike - thank you, we do have a laser printer. We are being moved, (from a cockroach infested dump) because a private company want the land we occupy and the Trust has sold it to them! But at least we lose the cockroaches.

I would argue strenously that everybody is entitled to daylight in their at workstation. Office work, especially in the NHS can be stressfull enough without allowing yourself some of the delights of bright sunshine. We have a large office with many windows. My boss switches off the lights now and again which wrangles sometimes but still a good place to work.
Is life really like that in the NHS? I shall stick to the Chemical industry.

P.s. Worse case senario ask your union for help on this matter.

Did you know that Laser printers produce ozone gas - so if you have a laser printer with no ventilation it can't be good.

As a fellow NHS worker it does not surprise me that they want you all to live in a small cupboard - we seem to be moved on a yearly basis and always to somewhere a little smaller and a little more dingey!

get your union in, the room should be space planned and there is no way that area would be sufficient for four desks in and have the legal amount of room to move about in

protect with your union OR insist that they get a very powerful airconditioner.
