I recall seeing a (war) film many years ago.

I have a recollection that at the end of the film some men were shot by a firing squad and at that moment we hear the sound of Frank Sinatra singing Have Yourself a Very Merry Christmas. I don't think Frank Sinatra starred in the film.

Can anyone tell me what the film was please?

The film was Carl Foreman's 1963 epic "The Victors" starring Vince Edwards, Albert Finney and Melina mercouri amongst a star studded cast.
Sinatra was not credited in the cast.
"Have yourself a very merry Christmas" also appeared in Meet Me in St. Louis sung by Judy Garland.

If the film you are thinking of was shot in black and white, then I'm sure Barrowman is right. It's a terrific film.
I don't, however, remember 'Have yourself A Merry Little Christmas' being played at the end (though it may have been)but do know it was played during the execution of a lone soldier in a snow covered field.
