Only 5% of all breast cancers occur in women over 40. It is common to have lumps after pregnancy. Like your GP I would however automatically refer anyone with a lump even if I was 99% certain it was OK. Drop him a note telling him how worried you are and I am sure he will TRY and get you seen sooner, if only for reassurance.

I am also 29 and found a lump in my breast. Can't believe you have had to wait so long.I was seen 2 weeks after going to my gp.Surprised you are having a mammogram instead of ultrasound. After having a biopsy my lump was benign. You have a young baby so its probably blocked milk ducts.Contact your gp surgery and ask if you can be seen sooner.Good luck

98% of breast lumps are benign. But 13 weeks is too long to wait. If you live in the UK find out where your nearest Breast Clinic is and refer yourself. You will make yourself ill worrying for that length of time otherwise!

Your Dr is playing safe by requesting the mammogram I am sure if it was anything your Dr thought was more than fatty tissue or a cyst you would have been sent right away.
I know it is easy for me to say don't worry but we don't work like that but please try and stay calm and if you can't then why not try getting a second opinion.
Good Luck and I wish you all the best, try and keep smiling :)
