I think that many people are beginning to see that the concept of lassiez faire capitalism (which in reality is not practiced in its pure form anywhere) is not some sort of golden ideal that we should be working toward.

Capitalism needs checks and balances just like everything else because there will always be people who will s**t on other people given half the chance, no matter what economic system you decide to use, This whole modern notion that "whats good for business trumps everything" in my opinion needs to die. People still need incentives to invest, create, and innovate, but that has to be tempered with whats best for the common good, and what's humane.

you mean like an indian casino that opens up and destroys your life and you ask them to ban you from the place and they just smile and say no...you go to GA and every week the rooms are more and more crowded with decent family types, who led good quality lives before the casino opened up 3 minutes away.
