I think the pats have a solid recieving core for the time. Very young but solid. The youth played a factor in the playoff games with a few dropped crucial passes. But you live and learn. I think they can get some solid picks where they are at.

It would take a lot more than there top 2 picks to move up to draft Calvin Johnson. There is something called the NFL darft value chart.
The Patriots would need to trade up to the #2 pick in the draft, that is worth 2600 pts.
The 24th pick is worth 740 points. The 28th pick is worth 660 pts. The Patriots need to come of with another 1200 points of value, its not going to happen.
The Patriots 2 picks are only worth the 8th pick in the draft. Johnson will be long gone.

No. They need secondary help. Basically New England is only worried about two teams Indy and San Diego. They can handle SD, but now they need help shutting down Peyton. The best way to do that is by getting a CB that can wreak havoc on the Colt receivers.
The Pats do not like to make big flashy moves. They will find quiet guys who want to be part of their machine. As history show, once a piece of that machine thinks they are more important than everyone else, they get traded.

They would have to move into the top 4 to draft Johnson....it would probably be an amazing pick for them.....I just dont think 2 lower first round picks is gonna get it...they might need to add a second rounder

ok so since they now have donte stallworth...their recievers are now reche caldwell, troy brown, stallworth, and the silent assassin jabar gaffney. gaffney tore up the turf in the playoffs for the pats with 2 tds and over 250 recieving yards in three games...they will not need to move up for another spot...they also signed wes welker from the dolhpins...
stallworth, caldwell and gaffney were all drafted in 2002 making them only about 26-27 years old. and they drafted chad jackson a young reciever in 2006 in thr 2nd round. they do not need another wr....
and for the guy who said they needed another RB...yeah his name is laurence maroney...he had 750 yards and 6 tds with them last year and returned kickoffs...now he doesnt have corey dillon so he will get even more touches . and if you did not see, they signed sammy morris the number 2 rb from miami who played behind ronnie brown and started some games when brown was hurt. so what rb do they need now?

Johnson is a bona fide player but i think they would have trouble signing him, and they have a lot of experienced receivers already. Look for them to take an LB or CB in first round.

That would be nice but they already signed great recivers in the free agency. Donte Stallworth, Wes Welker, and Kelly Wasington.

No, they have signed or made deals for receivers already and have enough good receivers already. They need to find a solid power running back to work in with maroney. They have a speedy back with moves and now they need a power back to replace corey dillon. They are all set with receivers for now.

I wish, but i think if we want to get a WR, maybe Dwane Jarrett. I think right now though we need a CB or a LB
