It would be very sad if you made a major decision about your own body based on a vote here on Answers.
Here's the facts:
The American Medical Association and the American Pediatric Association both have policies stating that routine circumcision is unnecessary. This reverses their policy of the 80s, when they did recommend it. New medical evidence shows it has no benefits, particularly for an adult.
The foreskin is actually mucous membrane, covered in thousands of nerves. These all add to the sensation of masturbation and sex. After circumcision, this sensation is gone, and after a few weeks, the head of the penis develops a layer of insensitive keretin, which protects the head, but also dulls sensation.
Adult men who have circumcisions notice the reduced sensitivity; some complain that they are no longer able to reach orgasm while having sex, and have to finish off by hand.
Nationally in the US, only about 60% of newborn males are now circumcised; down from 90% in 1968. Parents are changing their attitudes as better health education explains there are no greater risks for STDs and cancer in uncircumcised men than with circumcised men.
The only proven risk factor is transmission of HIV if a man has unprotected sex with an infected person. In that case, there is a 50% greater chance of HIV transmission. In men wearing a condom, there was no difference in infection rates between circumcised and uncircumcised.
I would do more research before making a decision. You will not be able to reverse the operation; once you lose the foreskin, the reduction in sensitivity will be permanent.

AnneB's answer is crazy - sorry, but I had the circ' done in my 20s and there was NO pain. Just some mild discomfort and the tylenol3's my urologist gave me, I didn't even need to use them. I healed fine within 2 weeks and never thought back about missing my foreskin.
Dude - why do you want a circumcision. You need to ask yourself this question. Is it for you or for a partner. If it's for you, what is motivating you to look into this option. As far as decreasing the sensitivity - yes it does, but that isn't always a BAD thing. Some guys want to be less senstive. I am a very sexually driven person. I masturbate about 2-3 time a day when I had a foreskin. With foreskin I wanked all the time, beause the foreskin was a easy built in 'lube' for me. I had a very sensitive glans(penis head). After the circumcision, I am able to hold off from ejaculating much longer. My partner has noticed that I can now have intercourse and slow myself down to a point where we can be having intercourse for about 10 minutes before I feel I need to '***'.....versus before I could only hold off for about 4 minutes the very most.
I find that since getting circumcised I receive way way more oral sex from my usual partner and all other sexual partners. Without my foreskin - most partners immediately go down on my penis during sex and suck me for ages before I even feel the need to ejaculate vs. before - I'd shoot my load with oral within minutes.
Hope that helps. Please let me know what you decide.
Honestly - if you are ok with your foreskin, just keep it dude.
It's sort of fun having the turtleneck to play around with - most other uncut dudes would agree with me. It's a good thing being uncut.

Are you experiencing any health problems with your foreskin intact? If not then I think at 40+ years old it might be something to forget. Circumcision is usually only done at your age on health reasons - and I for one wouldn't recommend it. How many men who are circumcised wonder what its like being uncircumcised?

It is your personal decision. My parents decided for me when I was a baby. It will not stop you having kids. I have three. Including identical twins. Some reports suggest that women have less chance of getting cervical cancer if their partner is a circumsised male. And it's easier to keep things clean and fresh. It's up to you.
In my case some people say they threw the best part away.

Girls point of view - whats the point? If you have pain from your foreskin then maybe you should for that reason but i cant see the reason in having it done. My boyfriends intact and i kinda think it would be strange to see a man who has had a circumcision.

Hi. My husband had the procedure last December due to medical reasons, and if it helps i can tell you what he thinks?
he says its cleaner and more hygienic , however he also said that sex felt better before the op and it takes a while to get used to having no foreskin as your clothes rub on the now uncovered bit. From a women's point of view it looks different but feels the same. Hope this helps.

If you've never had any problems down there, why even think about it? If you enjoy what you have now, enjoy it and who cares what others say. You're fine as you are, why risk doing something that may not come out well to satisfy you. Those that have it done typically end up satisfied because a. they either had a problem down there or b. they may have felt in the minority, depending where they lived.

I had it done when I was six for medical reasons, and I am happy its done, why? because:
its cleaner! with the foreskin open all the time and not sheathed, it doesnt get as dirty as an ordinary penis.
its recently been proved that a circ'd penis is less likely to contract sexual infections, due to the nerves and pores being, for lack of a better word dead, which also makes it less sensitive, my girlfriend doesnt complain!
overall, im glad im circ'd, and i really wouldnt like to go back to the last chicken in the shop look.
so if u want ur tackle to be easier to look after as you get older and you maybe wanna last longer, go for it. depends on what u think looks better really!

Why would you even consider it? A full 90% of women say sex is better with an intact man. http://www.healthcentral.com/drdean/408/60750.html And a new study out this week proves conclusively that circumcision decreases sensitivity for the man. http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/doi/abs/10.1111/j.1464-410X.2006.06685.x
So if it makes things worse for her and for you, what's the point? Read the articles I've linked to and then decide.
