I am nearly finished my degree and I didnt really focus on one area, I kinda switched all over the place. Most of my fellow students focused on one coutry like China or Japan but I didnt pick one country I focused on all of South East Asia (I am doing a International Relations degree). So which is better, to know a little about alot or alot about a little?

Having a broad foundation or background seems like a strength for your area because in time you will probably continue to become more focused on specific aspects of International Relations as you get started in your career.

After all, if your degree is "International" and you only focus on a single country, then that would be like focusing on American Studies and only looking at Pennsylvania.

The world is increasingly complex. Being well read and broadly educated and keeping your interest in diverse topics, people, and places will make you a winner in the years to come. Good luck! I bet you will have some unique opportunities ahead.

That depends on you. You have to be able to research a specific area when needed if you don't what to specialize in that area. Specializing in Sowth East Asia as a whole is fine. But when it comes down to it, you must know where to immediately get your information when needed.
