Man I know that problem! You're not being silly! I kinda go in cycles of totally eating heaps of it, then making myself totally stop eating it for a while, then it builds up again til I'm back totally out of control! I can get really down when I don't eat it and one piece can totally change the way I feel about my life, but then sometimes I really hate it and how I'm so hooked on it! To stop I have to just totally stop - I pick a day and say that's it - from that day I won't eat chocolate again for a month! I try to substitute it - I love dried fruit which is v high in sugar but fat free so I think better than chocolate (honestly - it doesn't look that great but it is fantastic! Asdas own brand is the best - the bags of it are near the fresh fruit and veg - try pineapple and mango, they are both amazing! I only found out about it last year but it is great!). I usually start by eating heaps of it instead of chocolate, but the first few days are the worst and I try to cut down after that. But everyone's different. Another good thing to try is v dark chocolate - it's an aquired taste but you can't eat as much at once so it's quite good - green and blacks do individually wrapped squares. Or try chocolate coated nuts - the protein in the nuts fills you up more so you eat less.
Hope some of that helps - good luck xx

awww dont worry. The best ways to get off this addiction is simple and easy. when ever you see chocolate dont be tempted. when your going to take your first bite think of those kids who have never tasted a dab of chocolate. Think of what its doing to you. Maybe if its that serious you can actually get something fromt the chemist called : addictiosis. This helps any food & drink addictions and it settles your stomach of all the food its use to in your case chocolate and it will sooth your stomach and you will feel that you dont need no more chocolate. Trust me. Go to your nearest chemist and ask. I had this once except i couldnt stop drinking orange juice and i tryed it and after a week i forget all about orange. I dont exactly know how it stops your addicition but hey its good. Give it a go !

Get non-dairy dark chocolate with high percentage of cocoa in it. The richer the choclate the less you eat, try to get organic like green and blacks and avoid anything with hydronated vegetable oils which is really fattening and in most cakes and chocolate bars, until you get a handle on it eat the best stuff less likely to spiral out of control oh yeah eat plenty of healthy food, you tend to snack and eat badly when you miss regular meals.

Over-ingesting is an addiction, counting on the circumstances. in case you have emotional trauma on your previous, counseling or a help team could be mandatory, and there are a number of available. in case you suspect your self to be emotionally healthful, then the answer i might propose could be to soak up a easy espresso (which contains extra or less the comparable volume of caffeine as a candy bar) with a packet of Splenda (to fulfill the candy tooth.) Caffeine is an urge for nutrition suppressant, and espresso has minimum energy, plus water-based products tend to fill the tummy plenty swifter than good meals/candy. additionally, this habit ought to satiate your caffeine fix on an identical time as on the comparable time make you sense extra finished and lowering your urge for nutrition. Be cautioned; I mentioned a easy espresso.

I had been told that women particularly crave chocolate when they have a zinc definciency. I went to a health food shop and talked to staff who recommended I take a zinc supplement and after a few weeks noticed my chocolate consumption dropped. I still eat chocolate but that's because it is so gorgeous but I don't crave it anymore!

I'm not as bad as that but I've started to buy Dark chocolate instead and I limit myself to two blocks of Bourneville a day...keep it in the fridge and when you eat it don't bite it but suck it like a sweet...that way you get a huge chocolate hit...but only from one block....try it, it really works!

Try cutting down to some low fat chocolate bars and see how you get on with them. Milkyways are supposed to be low in fat and they taste gorgeous. You might be able to ween yourself off it that way. Good luck

see a doctor! one thing you can do is buy a bottle of vanilla essence and every time you go to eat chocolate, sniff the bottle, and it will release that whole "pleasure" thing. it works for me, did you know that most of your taste resceptors are in your nose, and you taste more through your nose than your mouth. it is a fact!!!!!! so try smelling chocolate or vanilla, it will help!
