Japan does not have, and never had a one child policy. China has the one child policy which is still in effect. Infact, there is a need for people to have more children here in Japan. The population has been going down with every generation. Most families from what I noticed have 0-2 kids.

he's an idiot. Japan has never had such a policy. It is true that boys were more preferred than girls and infantcide was practiced in lean times but there was never an enforced one child only policy. He's confused with China. Show him a map and show him China and Japan so he can realize the difference between them.
Japan's running out of people as it is with a declining birth rate and growing aging population.

Most definitely not. It's China with the one child policy, and it still has it.
Japan has a population that is in fact "aging" and experiencing "declining birth rates". Having such a policy in Japan would be a real hard slap in the face of the whole country.

The one child policy is in China, that's why China is now facing a critical shortage of women because women were selectively aborting female fetuses.
I believe that Japan strongly supports two children per family.

There's no 1 child policy in Japan.
Japan's got a huge problem with a declining population. They're trying to figure out how to get people to have more kids.

I don't believe so. China has a one child policy, or at least they did at one point.
