New scientist recently ran an article about this. Basically it's human instinct to align yorself with someone who shares common interests. Skin colour is an obvoius difference.

I think it's a great shame that in the 21st century skin colour is a social barrier, madness isn't it - then you get some people who just don't want to overcome this barrier.

Yes I agree. I am ethnic and I never felt I was inferior because of the colour of my skin, I feel that I have been given the same opportunities as a caucasian person . Your life is what you make it and if people let their insecurities overtake their life because of their skin colour they will never get anywhere.

Skin color is not an issue. Race is an issue. Race has very little to do with skin color. The levels of melanin in the skin is just one of hundreds of scientifically provable biological differences between the various races. Other differences include bone structure, hair texture, muscle structure, average intelligence, susceptability to certain deseases, temperment, etc. The list is way too long to list here.

Obsessing approximately epidermis shade is this way of unhappy waste of existence! i think of all organic epidermis colorations are eye-catching. i don't even see why human beings pretend tan or bleach their epidermis! and that i'm not from the US even although this is probably because of fact the persons themselves in south usa are very blended, US has many distinctive races yet there is probably extra biracials in south usa. in basic terms a wager. And the international places in south americas mentality in the direction of shade is probably very distinctive to human beings interior the US. in step with hazard the media has something to do with it as nicely, i don't understand.
