My cat eats dry Special Kitty cat food and my dog eats dry Ole roy dog food. sometimes I buy my cat canned tuna /salmon flavored friskies canned food. I did not see these on the list that I read of tainted foods but I`m still worried. Should I be ?. What brands are safe ? I just lost a 16 year old yellow lab of old age and that killed me,, I don`t want to lose another animal.

Dry food is not affected...this whole thing makes me sick....if it would have been people food, I bet they would have been a heck of a lot clearer on the food...so many poor pets and owners....I hope they sue their pants off of them!

The recall is not for dry food. I believe the pouch recall has something to do with wheat gluten being added or something and when sealed causes it to "mold" and create bacteria, but I am not an expert so everyone that reads my answer please don't get all mad if I am not 100% accurate!

I'm trying to find out an answer to this question too. 2 weeks ago my dog died of kidney failure suddenly. She eats a dry food made by one of the manufacturers listed. When I took her to the vet they kept asking me if she might have gotten into someting, if she ate something she shouldn't have. Howerver, the manufacturers do say it is limited to the moist.

The recall is NOT for any dry dog or cat foods.
