Hi there, I know how you feel, I also am looking for work, and have posted my CV on every job site on the net (it seems) and have had a few responces and interviews, but have come to nothing..

If you like design, go to your local job center and ask for any training opportunities. Also you can try contacting your local colleges for courses on art and design, you may be able to get on a course for free if the jobcenter help you :)

Hope this helps

Have you thought about maybe doing an evening/part time course in design or further studies if you already have the skills that might help your job prospects. Maybe you should try and find a career advisor who will be able to push you in the right direction.

Have you ever thought of being a freelance illustrator? get a portfolio together of what you can do and go and harass advertising agencies etc. Or set up doing something like making birthday cards or wedding invites or maybe just selling your drawings of landscapes or whatever you like drawing alot of people are having there pets drawn, I have noticed at the mo. How about painting some canvas's and selling them on ebay.

What about volunteering as a life model in order to get some funds! You should really do some kind of class in art and design. No point trying to get another kind of job if you are going to be miserable in it.

Hi,
I remember when I first was looking for a job and trying to decide what to do as a career.....................it's a nightmare. I now work from home, and enjoy the money and the flexibility. I can offer you a work from home business, that will allow you to work your other commitments and indeed allow you to spend more time on the things you like. For more info please email me on flp4life@yahoo.co.uk

best wishes

my friends daughter was in the same position, she now makes scarves and sells them on eBay, makes a bit and its good experience. Can you do caricatures? maybe you could set something up involving that, or make cards etc anything crafty, make a bit of money out of what you love to do, its a start

Get a market stall. Sell your art, make jewellery, sell something you design. Make it special, and unique, and remember me when you're rich!

Good luck.
