Hiya. I would definately reccomend the icy blue dress, as long as it is completed with some white accessories. A white rose corsage would look beautiful, with perhaps a sparkly white and silver clutch bag, so as not to look too old fashioned and formal!
I'm 5'10 myself, and have Blue eyes and dark hair. I would say that lighter colours generally fare far better with my colouring and height, as dark colours can make me look like an amazonian woman, softer colours will play down height a little, and will emphasize your daughters beautiful blue eyes.
With regards to makeup, try to avoid anything that's too dark, so stick to sheer, pink and glossy shades, and maybe some silver eyeshadow, and a subtle silver face shimmer.
The whole futuristic look is bang on trend for todays' fashion conscious girls, and has been a big look on the catwalks.
jewelerry can also be used to bring the outfil together. Perhaps a diamonte (or diamond if u have the cash, lol) cuff for the wrist and some gorgeous sparkling drop or chandellier earrings, and necklace to match.
There are also many sparkly/silver shoes around.
Well, this is all just my oppinion, but when I picture it in my head, I feel your daughter would look stunning and tres fashionable, and be the belle of the ball!

Hope she has a beautiful night, whatever she wears! X

Either! The blue one will bring out her eyes if it is a close match, however, if her eyes are a grey/blue I would steer clear of this as it can make them look washed out.
Red looks striking with dark hair, and really makes it stand out.

You don't say what shade of skin she has, but red goes with pretty much all skin tones, icy blue goes better with pale or olive skin. If she has slightly pink skin then stay away from the red as it will make this more obvious.

With her dark hair the red would be beautiful. I actually think when she looks back at pictures red may stand the test of time better as well!! She can dance to Lady in Red! Hope she has fun! Sounds like she is already lucky to have such a caring and involved mom!!

With her colouring, she would look great in either dress. The blue would really bring out her eyes though. Why not let her choose the one she wants.
